Perfect your S+ setup
Ensure you have downloaded the S+ by ResMed app and use it to set up your account; making sure to answer all profile set up questions and tour the app with the S+ Guide. After, follow the on-screen instructions to pair your compatible smartphone or tablet to the S+ unit.
If you have already set up a profile earlier but not paired your device to the S+, tapping the red S+ icon on the right of the screen will take you to the Bluetooth® pairing screen where you should follow the pairing instructions.
Using the S+ by ResMed app, check the breathing graph to ensure your smartphone is connected to the S+ unit. You can see this graph once you connect your smartphone to your S+ unit and the S+ icon on the right of the screen has turned green. Make sure no obstacles are between you and the S+ unit. Answer the daily questions on the Pre-Sleep screen, then tap “Sleep” on the Sleep screen to start tracking your sleep.Back to Questions Back to Categories
Place the unit on a nightstand close to you. The S+ unit must be positioned within 3.9 feet of you while you are sleeping. Ideally this should be about an arm length’s distance away from you. The unit should be angled forward, facing your chest. The bottom of the pod should be above the level of the mattress. Using objects with moving parts, such as an electric fan, in the vicinity of the S+ unit may impair its performance. To ensure minimal interference, keep objects with moving parts more than 3.9 feet away from the S+ unit. First, make sure that both Bluetooth® and WiFi are switched on your smartphone. Download the S+ by ResMed app from the Apple® App Store and the Google Play™ store. To locate the app at the store, simply search for “S+ by ResMed.” After download is complete, open the app. Follow the registration process and take the app tour, the “S+ Guide.” Connect the S+ to a power outlet. With the app open, tap on “Connect your S+.” You’ll see a list of available Bluetooth® devices. From this list, select “S+ by ResMed” and pair within one minute of plugging in the S+. Yes, the same S+ unit can be shared with more than one person, but can only capture information for one person at a time. We recommend that each user creates and tracks their sleep through their own individual account so that the S+ Mentor feedback can be tailored to each user’s specific sleep information and needs. The S+ unit needs to be placed on the side of the bed next to the person who it is tracking as it reads the person who is closest to it.Back to Questions Back to Categories
When you are pairing your smartphone to your unit for the first time, please ensure that all units are switched off. Next, power up only your specific unit - this means that only your unit and its unique identifier code (“mac address”) will be visible on the Bluetooth® pairing screen on the app. Remember to pair your smartphone to the S+ unit within one minute of powering the unit up and to use the app to do this.Back to Questions Back to Categories
By keeping the unit in a dry environment and following the instructions in the User Manual, the unit should work when it is connected to a power source. For proper functioning, storage conditions should be within 41°F to 95°F, and 30% to 85% relative humidity.Back to Questions Back to Categories
The S+ unit only needs to be plugged in when you are tracking your sleep. However, the unit uses very little power compared to most household appliances. Leaving the unit plugged in facilitates a faster reconnection process via Bluetooth®.Back to Questions Back to Categories
We recommend charging your smart phone while tracking your sleep, to avoid your smartphone’s battery running out of power. There is a second USB outlet in the power supply unit that you can use to charge your phone, with your phone’s own power supply cable.Back to Questions Back to Categories
No you can vary the smart device, all you need to do is download the S+ by ResMed app to any compatible smartphone/tablet and login using the email and password associated with your account. Then use the app to pair the device you wish to use with the S+ unit.
When in range, your S+ unit may automatically re-connect with the last device it was connected to. Therefore if you change smart device, ensure Bluetooth® is turned off on the device you do not wish to use.Back to Questions Back to Categories
You can check this out on any page of the application. The top right corner of the app displays the S+ unit icon. The icon will either be red or green, indicating whether the S+ unit is connected or not. A green icon indicates that the S+ unit is connected to your smartphone. The front-left LED light will, at different times will be green, yellow, red, or off. This light communicates the status and activity of the S+ unit as well as its connection to your smartphone:
